Papers 2 – The Best Researcher Software now on PC
Rating: 4.9 outta 5 stars !
The latest version of Paper (2.2.10) on the Mac has matured very nicely since its early and rough days of v2.0.
Its finally returned many of the features of the old v1.9, plus added the fantastic endnote killing feature of citations, which unlike endnote, works with a far greater number of programs. The ability to annotate PDFs and have them sync between the iPad and desktop finally is awesome, and the over all stability is now rock solid.
I can’t think of another piece of software that has had such a huge impact on the way I work, and made reading, finding, organising and quoting other research articles a joy. The only reason it doesn’t get a full 5 stars is that I am assuming given the trajectory of improvements that this software has gone thru over the past few years, that there is some great features still yet to come, for which I am holding out a bit of reward for.
The biggest news however, is that this once Mac OSX only software has now been released on to masses of the PC world. This software was a very big reason why I thought I would never buy a PC again, but now that reason has gone… I’ll have to find another reason 😦
