A Simple Fix for iCloud Mail Password Rejection
If you are getting stuck logging into the new iCloud after migrating from MobileMe with an error that your password is incorrect… its actually your user name thats wrong.
To fix it make sure you have @me.com at the end of your user name.
For e.g. “email@example.com”
By default when iCloud sets up/does the migration, it only seems to put in the “myusername” bit and forgets to add “@me.com”
Thus you get an wrong password error !
UPDATE 2: So it looks like you can now use the user name with or without the @me.com for your login. My guess is that the huge load on Apples servers was the main problems.
I’m still using @me.com, but was also able to get access without it.
UPDATE: so this worked for all of about 30min before I started to get an wrong password again. Looks like Apple’s servers are struggling 😦
Interestingly I can still get access via the web to all the other apps such as calendars, find my phone and contacts.
